My 2nd time here following my 2nd knee replacement. I cannot think highly enough of the support I have received on both occasions from the wonderful Doctors, nurses, physio, OT and kitchen staff. Everyone has supported my recuperation in a friendly and professional way. The dedicated Doctors and nursing staff Betty, Roxy, Ann, Connie, Mark etc including the wonderful student nurses from Foundation college and my physios Kirsty and Nata and Molly my OT. Without your support and dedication I would be in a lot of pain and frustrated with my recovery. I can’t thank you enough.
Although the astetics leave a lot to be desired the accommodation is spotlessly clean and very comfortable. I can be relaxed as I walk out of here and home.
Thank you everyone from the bottom of my heart and please allow me to express my deepest gratitude in helping me battle this journey without you I would be in a very dark place.
    THANK YOU SO MUCH.

Dr Terence Lim is a bully and a narcissist. DO NOT expect him to care about your pain - he is only interested in collecting the $$$'s and his interpersonal skills are beyond reprehensible.

EVERY time my husband didn't attend an appointment with me Dr Lim would internationally try to trigger me and when I asked about a particular treatment (one which he had provided for me in the past) I was told by the head O.T. that she would need to "Ask him on a day he was in a good mood." She also told me that if I were to any other doctor/facility, that they would have no issue providing me with the treatment I had returned to NERC seeking.

I had previously been a patient here after spinal surgery and returned despite the terrible experience I had with him the first time around purely because it was close to home AND most of the other staff at the facility were actually wonderful.

When I mentioned that I might go elsewhere Dr Lim said, "Do you remember what I said last time you asked about seeking treatment elsewhere?"
I said, "Yes, you said if I go somewhere else, you go there and you stay there!" To which be replied, "That's right!" I told him that was okay and that I had arranged another referral so I got up to leave. As I walked out of his office he called out after me "Good to see you're finally making a decision and sticking to it for once!" Whatever that was meant to mean.

When I went to reception to cancel my next month's worth of 3hour per week appointments the receptionist asked why I was cancelling and I responded "Because Dr Lim is no longer my doctor" and a complete stranger in the out-patient reception exclaimed "Woohoo, you're cured!"

ALL of the staff members at the facility are quite vocal about Dr Lim's horrible manner behind his back and it is well known amongst patients that you have to simply "put up with" his abrasive and toxic manner.

Dr Lim's disregard, lack of empathy and wilful ignorance of his patients pain makes it hard to believe that he has the audacity to call himself a pain specialist, let alone a professional, despite his 20+ years of experience in the field (which he will remind you of ad nauseum in appointments).

Even prior to my first admission (following major spinal surgery) the staff member who liased my transfer from Austin Hospital warned me that Dr Lim was difficult to handle and to be prepared, my oh my was that an understatement.

If I could give ZERO stars I would. Dr Lim is a petty, passive-agressive bully who shouldn't be working anywhere near people. He is toxic and I have held my tongue for too long.

Don't expect any support from the staff Psychiatrist, Dr Elliot either, she "doesn't do crisis care" and happily discharged me from a mental healthcare facility in a crisis state. When I questioned her as to why she hadn't asked TAC for more time (as I had told her I felt I needed a longer stay) she told me, "No, I only said I didn't THINK TAC would allow you further time." At no point did she actually contact them to make this request and then insinuated that this was MY fault.

She then claimed my TAC funding was no longer valid, despite me providing her with correspondence confirming that it was in fact, still funded and delayed two appointments before telling me she didn't do crisis care and would no longer treat me.

I waited 14 months for my initial referral to NERC to be approved by TAC and when I tried to go elsewhere, was denied rehabilitation at a new facility due to the length of time between being hit by a car and the new request.

I lost access to ALL physical therapy last November, which led to the onset of medically diagnosed anorexia, as well as other emotional trauma from the experience.

The fact that the rest of the staff at the facility are wonderful simply does not make up for the level bullying you are guaranteed to experience as a patient of Dr Lim, particularly if you want to have any sort of say in the treatment you will receive under his care as he will "not be participating in this patient-led treatment." 10/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND DR LIM

This is my 3rd stay here and I think it is a very good rehab centre. Yes it's old but all the staff are wonderful. Just had my 3rd spine op and when I got here I thought it would take forever to get back on my feet but 10 days later I am going home almost back to normal. The physios are all very helpful.

There is a good hydro pool and nice garden to walk around. Not a hospital atmosphere. If I ever need rehab again, I would be happy to come back here

I've had the unpleasant experience in having to stay in this excellent integrated rehabilitation centre. It has an excellent hydrotherapy pool, integrated holistic approach to your rehabilitation requirements. The Manor, which is the old hospital is wonderful. There are inside rooms and outside rooms. The outside rooms are great, being that you open the door and walk outside to fresh air. It's what's needed in today's hospital world, fresh air. Yes it's dated, grumpy receptionists, once passed these people you're in and great.

I was recommended this facility by my surgeon who is an excellent doctor and who has impeccable patient care.

I had a call from Helen who 'sold' me on the facility and set my expectation that Dr. Lim would manage my post-op pain and then come up with a pain management plan to help me get off the prescription narcotics rapidly, which I have been taking on and off for about 12 months.

I arrived at the facility on Thursday late afternoon. I settled in with an open mind. Come Friday I spoke to the nurses (repeatedly), physio and OT wondering when I would be seeing Dr. Lim (my treating doctor), not an unreasonable request.

I found out Friday evening that Dr. Lim would not be seeing me. He would most likely visit me sometime on Monday or Tuesday, 4-5 days after being admitted. Once I heard this I asked for an immediate discharge. This is verging on neglect and this type of behavior should be reported to AHPRA, complete lack of patient care.

Dr. Lim never made any effort to visit me once, despite allegedly being at the facility during my 28 hours stay. I expect that my treating doctor to come visit me once at least once within a 28 hour period, and if not, at least have the courtesy to give me a call and let me know he will tend to me shortly.

I did see the 'GP' who stepped into my room at 7 am the first morning for 2 minutes. He was gone before I could even speak to him, he told me to speak to Dr. Lim.

I often expressed concerns about the levels of pain medications and wanting a pain management plan to reduce my narcotic intake. I was told that Dr. Lim would have to manage that, someone who I had no access to.

The level of care by the nursing staff was of the highest standard, however, the level of care by the doctors is verging on neglect.

I am a private patient, paying top money for service. Room 33 that I was allocated felt like I was in a prison. I was placed out the back, away from human contact, the room, despite recently renovated it was very unwelcoming. The bathroom facilities are substandard for a private facility my guess from the 70's to early 80's.

I had to share a bathroom, which is not ideal but acceptable. The other patient was a pig, I'm sorry but I have no other word to best describe him. He would consistently leave fecal matter in the toilet for me to flush and left a fecal stain towel in the shower recess, where I was to shower. Outright disgusting and unhygienic.

After requesting a discharge, I was meet my the head nurse, at the time she was pleasant and trying to defuse the situation at hand. She was adamant that I should stay one more night and that she will get in contact with Dr. Lim.

I politely requested to leave, to which I was faced with objections by the head nurse that it was not possible, as no doctor was on the facility to discharge me and that they had no access to the pharmacy, which my medications I bought into the facility where kept. So, I had to stay.

I didn't respond well to this and after a short firm discussion, asking if I was being kept here forcibly against my will, she managed to find a way to obtain my medications which took about 2 hours. It was clear the staff had no idea how to handle such a request.

Since leaving, I have managed to reduce my narcotic pain safely by half over the weekend, while balancing and managing my withdrawal symptoms (I'm not new to this). I'm seeing my local GP today who will assist me in designing a pain management plan and seeing the practice nurse tending to my surgical wound.

I'm getting far better care from my local GP than what was provided by this facility at a fraction of the cost.

I would not recommend this facility to anyone.

If you do plan on staying, I strongly suggest you visit the bedroom and bathroom you will be allocated to see if it's up to your standard (avoid room 33). I would also make sure that you meet the 'doctor' who will be caring for you before your visit to rehab.

To be fair, the main wing, which is a shared facility looks great, the outdoor rooms I would avoid. Nursing, Physio and OT are great.

Seem to take great care looking after their patients. Physo twice a day, occupational therapy once a day. Access to dietitian, psychologist and general doctor. Bit disappointed the 1st meeting with dietitian resulted in an optislim brochure. Kinda expected a bit more than that.
